Glendalough Outreach Programme
We were delighted to welcome guest speakers from the Wicklow Mountains National Park Education Centre during Science Week. They talked to all classes about the variety of mammals native to Glendalough.
Science Week took place from 9th to 13th November. All classes focused on a specific topic for the week. Junior and Senior Infants – Senses 1st Class – Antarctica 2nd Class – Sound 3rd Class – Friction and Air Resistance 4th – 6th Class – Individual projects and experiments
Maths Week took place from 12th to 16th October. Maths was integrated into all curricular areas. The children took part in lots of exciting activities during the week such as problem solving, baking, maths trails and maths quizzes.
Oh, what a beautiful day!
As part of our S.E.S.E. curriculum, all pupils from 3rd to 6th class went on a nature walk around Blessington Lakes. Junior Infants to 2nd Class collected leaves on our school grounds. Art stations were set up in the school yard and pupils enjoyed making leaf rubbings and printings.
