Family Quiz Night
Senior Infants visit 1916!
Children in Senior Infants travelled back in time to 1916. Have a look at their picture!
Guest Speakers
On Tuesday 8th March, Johnny Glennon, a local historian, gave a very informative talk to the senior classes about 1916. The children in the junior classes also learnt a lot from Gilmer Hamilton. He talked all about what school was like a long time ago.
Celebrating 1916
To celebrate the anniversary of 1916, we invited all families to rewrite the proclamation for today’s Ireland. We also set up a museum to display household objects and memorabilia from 1916 which families kindly lent us. Have a look at our gallery to see some of our museum and other projects the children have completed.
Book Week 2016
This year book week took place from 3rd March to 10th March. Our theme was ‘Ireland: 100 years ago’ to celebrate the anniversary of 1916. Shared reading, book swapping and story telling were some of the fun activities the children took part in.
World Book Day
We celebrated World Book Day on the 3rd of March. Children were invited to dress up as their favourite character from a book. Everyone put great effort into their costumes and the teachers even got involved in the fun!
